Green Teens Application

About Green Teens

The Green Teens program is a paid farm-based internship where youth apprentices receive intensive hands-on trainings and develop the skills to manage the farms and markets. We are currently hiring youth for the summer season to assist with all aspects of day-to-day farm work, including plant and animal care, farmers markets and sales, and green building and site maintenance. Throughout the season, there will also be many opportunities to engage in community outreach, attend field trips, workshops, and guest speakers, lead volunteer groups, and carry out independent projects. All graduating Green Teens will have the opportunity to apply to stay on as hired part-time instructors after the summer season. Learn more here
Access & Eligibility Notes:
Both of our farms are ramp accessible and are on ground-level. The Far Rock subway station (Beach 44th Street) is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible, however you can transfer at Far Rockaway Mott Av Station to a Beach Channel bound Q22 bus which stops on the corner of the farm. For the Saratoga site, the nearest station is the Ralph Ave C, which is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Both the B25 and B44 have service to the Saratoga Farm.
If you are disabled and/or unable to do consistent physical labor, there are many other roles available in the program. We are open to discussing all and any forms of access needs- please let us know how we can support you.
