The Administrative Assistant provides direct support to the Executive Director and Director of Programs. The incumbent will demonstrate superb judgement while managing a variety of situations and confidential matters with utmost discretion. This individual will be responsible to craft and deliver strong verbal and written communications; exercise exceptional administrative and organizational skills; demonstrate strong capability to handle multiple tasks and balance multiple priorities. The ideal candidate must possess good interpersonal skills with a poised, polished, and friendly attitude. You are a self-starter who is able to prioritize effectively for the ED and Director of Programs. You are able to work well under pressure. Your role involves assisting with grants and fundraising activities, media response, special events and the preparation of materials.
The Marketing and Communications Associate will collaborate closely with the Chief Development Officer to support effective organizational operations in social media, marketing and communications, and special projects. The candidate will work with TCAH’s program managers, community members, elected officials, and numerous stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a firm commitment to TCAH’s mission of hunger relief and food justice; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong creative talent with an aptitude for marketing and building brand equity; the capacity to influence behavior through posted content; demonstrated social skills; the ability to thrive under constraints related to time and other resources; and experience with managing and coordinating small to medium-scale events.
The Mobile Unit Coordinator is responsible for organizing the day-to-day mobile pantry operations, coordinating and responding to the needs of the Weekend Healthy Snack, and Health 360 programs. The Weekend Healthy snack program is a program that addresses weekend hunger among students by providing no-prep snack packs to youths across the city. The Health 360 Program is geared toward teaching seniors the pillars of healthy living through gardening, healthy eating, and regular exercise. The Mobile Coordinator will support the development of the Mobile pantry and help to ensure that the needs of each site are met.
The Inventory Control Associate will plan, coordinate, and purchase TCAH’s inventory. They will also research best prices, monitor inventory levels, and distribute supplies. This position is a support-oriented position that reports to the Director of Programs. The ideal candidate has an unwavering commitment to TCAH’s hunger relief and food justice mission, written and verbal communication skills, problem-resolution skills, and a keen attention to detail.
The Senior Manager of Operations, Food Hub plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing TCAH’s food distribution operations across multiple locations. This position manages two warehouses totaling 28,000 sq ft, coordinating the distribution of over 17 million meals annually. The role involves strategic oversight of programs like Cyber Pantry, Weekend Health Snack, Mobile Pantry, Health 360, and Satellite programs, which support over 200 partner organizations.
Responsible for transporting goods from one place to another using medium-weight trucks. Operates trucks with a capacity of 26,001 pounds per gross vehicle weight or less and a lift gate with a maximum capacity of 10,000 pounds.
The warehouse worker will help organize the warehouse, organize orders, and ensure items are packed and dispatched in a timely manner. You are responsible for doing your part to ensure the warehouse functions efficiently.
TCAH’s warehouse facility stores and distributes food supplies to support our mission. We are currently seeking a Warehouse Admin Assistant to join our team and support our operations.
As TCAH’s capacity to serve grows, so too must our footprint across the city. The Building Maintenance worker will work with the IT and Program Maintenance Manager on small-scale repairs; to identify, report on, and plan for maintenance to property, equipment, appliances, and various machines; and to complete construction projects at each of TCAH’s sites in Brooklyn and Southeast Queens.
The Farm Assistant’s role is to supervise and ensure the daily operation of the farm runs smoothly. This includes but is not limited to working in crop production which can cover vegetables, greens, herbs, flowers, seedlings; overseeing the operation of the farm stand; giving brief weekly reports of tasks completed and pounds harvested to the farm manager; assisting in overall farm activities; abiding by NYC COVID-19 guidelines.
The Lead Farmer’s role is essential to the success of the farm. This individual directs and controls the growing operation to ensure optimum growth, appearance, quality, health of plants for the farm. This includes: the delivery of maximum agricultural practices and technologies that fits The Campaign Against Hunger’s mission and farm beliefs; to supervise the operation of major farm projects; to train young people throughout the farm season; to be adaptable and willing to assist in other areas of the farm if needed, to prepare seasonal crop plan and crop layout.
The Assistant Farm Manager will be charged with supervising and maintaining the daily operations of all TCAH farms in Brooklyn and Queens. This position includes working closely with youth, volunteer groups, and community members, to oversee all youth and volunteer participants, while physically working as part of the team. The Assistant Farm Manager directs the activities in the 2 fold general farm activity for optimal productivity and success of the farm programs.
