This Thanksgiving, Stand With New Yorkers in Crisis

Across New York City, thousands of families are entering the holiday season facing uncertainty. The federal government shutdown and the worsening SNAP crisis have pushed more households into food insecurity—especially in Brooklyn and Queens, where the cost of living continues to soar. Parents are stretching every dollar. Seniors are skipping meals. Working families are making impossible choices between rent, heat, and groceries.

This Thanksgiving, The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) is stepping up to ensure our neighbors don’t face the holidays hungry or alone.

How You Can Help This Holiday Season

Donate to Nourish a Family

Your support goes directly toward putting food on the tables of struggling New Yorkers.
Even a single contribution can provide groceries for a family trying to make ends meet.

  • $50 provides a holiday meal kit for a family of four

  • $100 supports a week of groceries for a household impacted by the shutdown

  • $250 helps stock our SuperPantry with fresh food during the peak season of need

Every dollar matters—and every dollar fuels hope.

Feeding New York City—One Family at a Time

Each year, TCAH provides holiday meals, fresh produce, and pantry staples to thousands of New Yorkers. But the need in 2025 is unlike anything we’ve seen before.

Through our Brooklyn SuperPantry and Queens distribution sites, we’re committed to serving families who have been directly impacted by:

  • The ongoing federal shutdown

  • Delayed or reduced SNAP benefits

  • Lost wages and sudden financial hardship

  • Rising food and housing costs

This Thanksgiving, we are distributing turkeys, fresh vegetables, culturally relevant ingredients, shelf-stable foods, and warm holiday meal kits to ensure every family we serve has the dignity and comfort of a full holiday table.

Thanksgiving Food Distributions

PROJECT TURKEY

Project Turkey is an annual fundraiser spearheaded by long-time TCAH supporter, Noah Lukeman. Project Turkey is another way that you can help provide Thanksgiving meals to New Yorkers in need.

Being unable to afford a turkey for one’s family on Thanksgiving is a painful experience, and an all-too-common reality for America’s hungry, 50% of whom are children. Project Turkey aims to rectify this situation.

By choosing one of New York City’s largest food pantries serving some of NYC’s hardest-hit neighborhoods (BedStuy/Brownsville/East New York), we strive to provide enough turkeys this Thanksgiving so that no one is turned away hungry from The Campaign Against Hunger, a 501-c-3 that feeds hundreds of families each day.
