How The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) Is Supporting Jamaica

The Campaign Against Hunger, in collaboration with the Jamaican Consulate in New York City and the New York State Joint Brooklyn and Queens Assembly and Senate Delegations, is still on the ground sending shipments of non-perishable food, hygiene kits, and emergency supplies to support families across Jamaica. We still desperately need your support.

100% of funds raised for this campaign will go directly to the relief supply chain and on-the-ground delivery.

Why Your Donation Matters

  • Even a $50 donation can provide a family of five with a week’s worth of food staples (rice, beans, canned vegetables, cooking oil) and a hygiene kit to remain safe and healthy during post-storm outages.

  • Post the storm and the devastation left behind, time is of the essence. The longer people go without food, water, hygiene access, the higher the risk of illness, malnutrition, infectious disease, and mental-health trauma.

  • Your support amplifies the capacity of local & trusted networks already embedded in the community — so aid gets in faster, to those who need it most.

What Happens After You Give

  1. We confirm receipt of your donation and send you a thank-you email.
  2. Funds are pooled into our “Hurricane Melissa – Jamaica Relief Fund.”
  3. In coordination with the Jamaican Consulate + local partners, shipments are dispatched from NYC to Jamaica ASAP.
  4. Our partner agencies in Jamaica deploy distribution teams to impacted communities once it’s safe.
