SNAP/EBT Now Accepted at Fresh Vibes E-Market
Starting today, eligible New Yorkers can shop TCAH’s Fresh Vibes E-Market and use their SNAP/EBT to purchase affordable, farm-fresh produce.
This is a major milestone for The Campaign Against Hunger, expanding access to affordable food for thousands of New Yorkers at a time when grocery prices have skyrocketed across the country.
Launched in summer 2025, the Fresh Vibes E-Market has always offered more than affordability. It’s a convenient solution for seniors and home-bound New Yorkers, giving them the ability to shop from the comfort of home. That convenience is especially critical now, as cities across the country face record-breaking heat. The E-Market means clients no longer have to wait in long lines and battle the elements just to get affordable, fresh food.

What the Certification Actually Means
For the E-Market: Fresh Vibes E-Market is now an authorized SNAP retailer, meaning it can legally accept Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards as payment online. This is a USDA-level authorization, not just a TCAH internal policy.
For customers: SNAP/EBT recipients can now use their existing benefits card to shop the E-Market the same way they’d use it at a physical store. No separate application, no special account needed beyond having an active EBT card.
How the Community Benefits
1. Access without transportation barriers
Online SNAP shopping removes the need to physically travel to a store. This benefits families without reliable transportation, mobility-limited individuals, or people balancing work schedules that don’t align with store hours.
2. Dignity in shopping
Online ordering removes the visibility of paying with EBT at checkout, which some customers find reduces stigma compared to in-person point-of-sale.
3. Delivery/pickup convenience
If Fresh Vibes offers delivery or pickup, this pairs SNAP benefits with logistics support — critical for elderly residents, caregivers, or people managing chronic illness.
4. Expanded access to fresh, healthy food
This directly supports food justice. SNAP recipients get access to the same fresh produce and quality goods as full-price customers, not a limited “SNAP-friendly” subset. The Fresh Vibes E-market sources mainly from BIPOC farmers, including our own farms! Support for these farms is urgently needed, so every purchase counts.
5. Broader reach for TCAH’s mission
This certification lets TCAH extend its core mission (food security + dignity) into digital retail. Meeting people where they already are (online) rather than requiring them to come to a physical location.
