In New York, hunger doesn’t always look like what you expect. It looks like working parents skipping dinner so their children can eat. It looks like seniors choosing medicine over meals. It looks like neighbors doing everything right — yet still falling short in a city they call home.
This Giving Tuesday, The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) invites you to join us as we continue to uplift communities still reeling from the shutdown and SNAP crisis. Your support is paramount as we navigate these uncertain times.Â
Every dollar helps TCAH expand programs, reach more underserved families, and empower individuals to overcome barriers to success. Together, let’s continue building stronger, healthier, and more connected communities.
We’re asking you to stand with us and fuel the resilience that defines this city. Your Giving Tuesday gift will:
Every dollar matters—and every dollar fuels hope.
The Campaign Against Hunger’s Fresh Vibes Market is a mobile produce distribution vehicle that provides affordable and fresh food to communities throughout NYC.
TCAH operates one of New York City’s largest emergency food pantries. Open five days per week, our SuperPantry provides the community with access to fresh produce, whole grains, lean proteins, and new clothes, all at no cost to our clients. The supermarket-style setup of the SuperPantry means that shoppers use a cart and are free to select the items they prefer.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides food assistance for nearly 1.8 million low-income individuals in New York. This national program helps families and individuals supplement the cost of their diet with nutritious foods. TCAH assists individuals and families with applying for SNAP benefits. In the past three years, we have infused the local economy with more than $5,000,000 of SNAP dollars and income tax refunds.
TCAH’s FREE Income Tax Services Program helps low-income New Yorkers file their taxes and get back refunds and credits they are entitled to. The program runs from January through April every year, servicing clients in Brooklyn and Queens.
The Campaign Against Hunger’s Urban Agricultural Centers are transforming underutilized spaces across New York City into thriving hubs of fresh food production, education, and community empowerment. By combining sustainable farming practices with workforce development, these centers grow nutrient-rich produce that directly supports families facing food insecurity — while teaching youth, volunteers, and local residents how to cultivate food in their own neighborhoods.
The Campaign Against Hunger’s Youth Empowerment Programs give young people the tools, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive. Through hands-on learning in urban agriculture, nutrition education, community service, and leadership development, TCAH equips youth to make healthy choices and become changemakers in their own neighborhoods.
