This Thanksgiving, The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) is stepping up to ensure our neighbors don’t face the holidays hungry or alone. With safety net programs like SNAP under constant attack, more families face food insecurity. Your support this holiday season is critical.
Each year, TCAH provides holiday meals, fresh produce, and pantry staples to thousands of New Yorkers.Â
In 2026 we are expanding our efforts, distributing Thanksgiving holiday meats and essentials at four locations: Brooklyn SuperPantry, Far Rockaway Queens, Marlboro/NYCHA and a special distribution in partnership with Assemblymember Brian Cunningham to ensure every family we serve has the dignity and comfort of a full holiday table.
Your support goes directly toward putting food on the tables of struggling New Yorkers.
$50 provides a holiday meal kit for a family of four
$100 supports a week of groceries for a household impacted by the shutdown
$250 helps stock our SuperPantry with fresh food during the peak season of need
Every dollar matters—and every dollar fuels hope.
Please note that all Thanksgiving Distributions are ticketed events. Available while supplies last.

Project Turkey is an annual fundraiser spearheaded by long-time TCAH supporter, Noah Lukeman. Project Turkey is another way that you can help provide Thanksgiving meals to New Yorkers in need.
Being unable to afford a turkey for one’s family on Thanksgiving is a painful experience, and an all-too-common reality for America’s hungry, 50% of whom are children. Project Turkey aims to rectify this situation.
By choosing one of New York City’s largest food pantries serving some of NYC’s hardest-hit neighborhoods (BedStuy/Brownsville/East New York), we strive to provide enough turkeys this Thanksgiving so that no one is turned away hungry from The Campaign Against Hunger, a 501-c-3 that feeds hundreds of families each day.
Whether you’re looking to receive a Thanksgiving meal, donate, or volunteer, our FAQ section provides quick answers to the most common questions about TCAH’s holiday distributions across Brooklyn and Queens. If you need additional assistance, our team is always here to support you.
TCAH serves individuals and families across Brooklyn and Queens who are experiencing food insecurity, including those impacted by the shutdown, SNAP delays, lost wages, or other financial challenges. No one is turned away.
Registration is encouraged when available, but walk-ins are welcome at most distribution sites. We recommend checking our latest updates or contacting our team for site-specific details.
Families receive a mix of holiday essentials such as turkey or protein options, fresh produce, culturally relevant ingredients, shelf-stable pantry items, and additional seasonal items to help create a full Thanksgiving meal.
Volunteers can sign up online to support food packing, distribution, intake assistance, and holiday prep at our Brooklyn and Queens sites. Opportunities are available for individuals, groups, workplaces, and students.
We do accept some food donations for the holiday meals, specifically pies for the Thanksgiving Day dinner and homebound meals. Please contact the Director of Outreach to discuss food donations.
We recommend making a monetary donation or supporting Project Turkey to support our efforts during Thanksgiving, but if you’re interested in hosting your own drive, please contact Racquel Peters, Director of Development for more details.Â
